Today at Industry Day at the Range for SHOT 2022, Palmetto State Armory showed off their PSAK-105, a 5.45 AK variant. I got a chance to see and shoot it, and I have to say that I was very impressed. The staff at the booth also teased a 5.56 AK, but unfortunately did not have one at the booth itself today.

The PSAK-105 is the most recently released member of Palmetto State Armory’s AK lineup. While at the Industry Day at the Range, I had the opportunity to dump a mag through it, and I was really impressed. The recoil impulse on this gun is practically nothing. It was without a doubt the smoothest shooting AK pistol that I have handled.

[SHOT 2022] PSAK-105 in actionAK pattern firearms have experienced a resurgence in the American market in recent years, with companies like Arsenal, Kalashnikov USA, Zastava, and of course, Palmetto State Armory, leading the way.

[SHOT 2022] PSAK-105 pictured here with a PSAR-V, PSAK-V, and a PSAK-103Featuring a 4.5mm side folding rear trunnion, a cold hammer forged 12.5″ barrel, and a M24x1.5 RH threaded muzzle, the PSAK-105 is loaded with the kinds of features that American AK shooters demand. The handguard is compatible with standard AK furniture, and the folding rear trunnion is compatible with standard AK folding stocks (if you file the right paperwork with the ATF).

[SHOT 2022] PSAK-105The PSA booth attendants also mentioned that they would be showing off a 5.56 AK tomorrow at their SHOT show booth. It will have a 16″ cold hammer forged barrel, an AK-E style muzzle device, and folding stock. It should retail at the same price as the PSAK-105, and I’ll definitely be swinging by their booth to get some pictures and more information.
